This visualization I use on different materials.  It’s the best way to get an idea of what I want to do.

You’re on shore or driving across the dam watching the parade go by.  You see a boat coming pulling something behind it but you can’t quite make it out.  The boat passes by and you see what appears to be an island following the boat.  A typical green highway sign with Bethlehem and an arrow pointing toward a cluster of billboards and “NO VACANCY” signs.  As the island moves slowly past you, you can read the billboards and you smile.  Next comes a (roughly) 16 foot by 16 foot manger scene, complete with live performing Mary, Joseph, the three wise men waving to the crowd and what looks like a baby.  That oh so special star will be shining above the manger as well.  Once the manger has passed, a short distance away will be a representation of Calgary with the three crosses (two lit up by white Christmas lights and red for JC’s cross).

Not only will my island be in the parade Christmas day, but I will take it around the lake a couple of times on Christmas Eve.  At midnight, I hope to pickup about 100-150 people and put them on the island for a midnight cruise/mass.  This may be my first time to minister to a large group.  But with God’s help, I will be fine.  I am going to make this happen by the grace of God.

I don’t know if there is enough time to raise the approximate $15,000 I anticipate it costing.  I am going to see if I can get churches in the area to help  with plastic collection and will barter advertising space for needed supplies.  For example, I need printing done, a bunch of  PVC pipe, signage made, trailer homes borrowed, vehicles borrowed to aid in collection, etc.  You can bet I’ll be meeting with printers, hardware shop owners, pawn shops and more.  A boat is my biggest need at the moment.

I also need people who can help with light construction, plastic transport (from collection site to construction site), a typist and more.  If you can help in anyway w/this project, call 405.464.0325.

Help me make this dream a reality…
